This is Clingman's Dome in the Smokey Mountians, North Carolina - isnt it amazingly ugly and yet - so cool all at once. I really think that the architect responsible should think about another job, that said - the view, ahhhh, the view... looks so awesome. What a terrific place to be able to commune with nature. I would love to go there and just sit a while.
At 6,643 feet, Clingmans Dome is the highest point in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It is the highest point in Tennessee, and the third highest mountain east of the Mississippi. Only Mt. Mitchell (6,684 feet) and Mt. Craig (6,647), both located in Mt. Mitchell State Park in western North Carolina, rise higher. Clingmans Dome is a popular Park destination. Located along the state-line ridge, it is half in North Carolina and half in Tennessee. The peak is accessible after driving Clingmans Dome Road from Newfound Gap, and then walking a steep half-mile trail. A paved trail leads to a 54-foot observation tower. The Appalachian Trail crosses Clingmans Dome, marking the highest point along its 2,144 mile journey.Vistas from Clingmans Dome are spectacular. On clear, pollution-free days, views expand over 100 miles and into seven states. However, air pollution limits average viewing distances to 22 miles. Despite this handicap, breathtaking scenes delight those ascending the tower. It is a great place for sunrises and sunsets.Clingmans Dome is a Beautiful Place For Vacations.

Tian Tan Buddha on Lantau Island, Hong Kong. The statue is located near Po Lin Monastery and symbolises the harmonious relationship between man and nature, people and religion.
A restaurant near Sanyou Cave above the Chang Jiang river, Hubei, China. I have researched this to attempt to find the menu - and the name of this restaurant. Honestly I dont know if I would be brave enough to get myself into a restaurant that wasnt on solid ground....
Iceland has always been an intriguing place for me, I think it's the ice, which I am so partial to. Isnt this supercalafagilistic?

SQUEEEEEE - another spot on the travel destination list. This is Wisteria Tunnel is located at the Kawachi Fuji Gardens in Kitakyushu, Japan. Isnt this just a blessing for the eyes - I dont know what time of day you would need to go to have it non-populated with a million on-lookers but thats when I want to be there, I bet the aroma is heady and the site one that would stay in your heart forever.
This is the Banaue Rice Terraces, located in the Phillipines. Pretty mind blowing stuff huh! These are 2000 years old and wow. Arent they beautiful. AND, they are STILL USED by the locals. Another place added to my list.
Petra, Jordan. On my wish list of places to visit. Described by the UNESCO as “one of the most precious cultural properties of man’s cultural heritage, Petra is an archeological site on the slope of Mount Hor. It is one of the new wonders of the world and is famous for its rock cut architecture.
This site was kept hidden till 1812 when it was discovered by a Swiss explorer. It was said to have been prepared by God for the Jewish people. Petra once flourished under the Roman empire but a rapid decline began with the Arabian trade being taken elsewhere. Then an earthquake caused a lot of destruction. Tourists throng the place to get a glimpse of the ruins of this beautiful city

I would love love love to marry my hubs again, and Im sure that it's gonna be soon that we do this God willing. Though our wedding was lovely, it was very much on the cheap and hurried due to the fact that within 2 hours of our nuptuals we had to submit all of our paperwork at the US consulate for my visa.....I'd love to do it a little more leisurely this next time, and I would love to have the whole family present. In line with all this I have been trolling through wedding things now and again. Today I stumbled across this beautiful wedding that tool place in Madrid. Wowsers. This is very much along the lines of the kind of vintage beauty we would love :
